For my 30th birthday my Mom bought me a plane ticket to go and visit my very best friend, Shelli in Utah. Since Shelli works for Jet Blue Air Lines we decided to fly to Las Vegas! What a great time we had. No kids, no husbands, just good old girl time. We were both on the budget plan and so we are so very proud that we were able to fly, rent a condo, rent a car, eat, gamble (sort of), and take home souvenirs for around $100 each! We were able to go and see MAMA MIA, which was super cute and fun, for half price as well. Then we found out that you can go to each of the casino's and sign up for their new players program and they will give you free stuff as well as free money to gamble with. Since Shelli and I are super cheap, this was an awesome deal. We only spent $10 each of our own money to gamble with. We got $20 each free from one casino and even though we had no idea what we were doing we each one around $30 dollars...not so bad! I just wish we would have figured out that when they offer you some thing to drink that it is free, we were so thirsty!
The major down side of Las Vegas is that every where you go you are bombarded with pornography! I was so surprised and horrified all at the same time. I know they call Las Vegas sin city, but I had no idea just how bad it could be. What maybe even bothered me more is at how many people take their young children with them. every where you go there were half naked women on billboards, men handing out strip club fliers, porn magazines available to buy just like a news paper. It was so very sad. So one day on the strip was all we could handle..more than enough actually. We did do some shopping and then we went to the temple.
What a difference the feeling we had when we even just drove up to the temple. So peaceful and all the evil feelings of the strip were gone. It truly was so lovely and such a welcome change, I am so grateful we took the time to go.
I did not take really any pictures except for what I have posted. I would like to think that I like to take pictures, but I don't. I am usually too busy in the moment and think afterwards, oh shoot I should have taken a picture!
