I had a Dr's appointment today. I was dissapointed. At my last appointment my Dr said that if I was dialated and my cervix was favourable then they would go ahead and break my water and induce labour. Well I was dialated this morning 2 cm, but my cervix is still too long and the baby's head is too high to break my water. So we now will check back next week. Until then I am taking suggestions on how to start labour and or move the babies head down. I did on my way home from the Dr.'s buy some castor oil.....still debating on if I should take it or not. HMMMMMM how desperate am I really?????

Ewww! I have heard that the Castor Oil only keeps you on the potty for hours...it doesn't help. I know of several possible ways to get things moving including being intimate but I never had any luck, both my babies stayed really high and had to be delivered via c-section.

haha it just hit me yesterday that now i've got this kid growing in me, and in 67 days (more or less) i'm going to have to get her out somehow. and i'm looking at your baby ticker and thinking "10 days still go to, what's the hurry? cuz labor's gonna hurt, right?"
i'm sure i'll understand when i'm huge and uncomfortable :)

I'm with Jewel (except for the pregnant thing:) What's the hurry? I know the discomfort and such but take advantage of not having a newborn yet. No seriously, has your doctor stripped your membranes yet? With Jade my doctor did it and I went into labour on the way home from her office. It does hurt a fair amount though. Castor oil worked like a charm for a few of my friends but everyone is different (aren't you sick of hearing that? I wish we could just get some solid advice:) Spicy food, walking around a lot (this one kicked me into gear with Kala), all the usuals. Sorry I have no new info! If I hear something, I'll let you know asap.

I feel for you, sweet Amanda dear. Someone in Texas is thinking about you! Best wishes for a quick (and SOON) delivery. But not so quick that you have the baby in the car. :)
PS The water really does smell and taste like dirt here. How did I never notice that????

Hey Manda! I keep wondering how you're doing! I had a nurse with my 1st who said that "male sperm does it every time", personally, I used to think that walking stairs did it for me, but after being 2 days overdue w/the last, decided, you just have no control. Sorry - no hope. Good luck and just try to store up sleep before the new born!
