Big Guy Fixed

Kal is now home!!!! It was a long week and a very hard week, but he is finally home. He definitely had a herniated disk in L4 of his spine. They discharged him on Friday, but what a nightmare that was. I knew he was not ready to come home, but we thought we would at least try. The walk to the front entrance of the hospital was terrible for him, he was in so much pain that he was almost passing out and wanting to throw up. He could not sit so I could not even put him in a wheel chair. I went to go and get the van and when I pulled up I knew he was in rough shape as he was in tears....I have been married to Kal for 11 years and I have seen him in pain before, but never like this. He got into the van but there was no way I could take him home in the shape that he was in. So as I was trying to figure out what to do a friend was passing by..( this is absolutely no coincidence, but a miracle in it self) he stayed with Kal so I could go back to the nurses and ask them what I needed to do. Another miracle is knowing one of the nurses on his floor and just recognizing her at that moment. She was a big help and took charge of the situation. Because we actually had left the hospital it self, they had to call the paramedics to come and get him...I know.... stupid hospital politics! Any way they were able to get him back inside to the ER, where they were able to admit him back into the hospital. The surgeon then came to see him the next day and suggested surgery. They were reluctant to do surgery at first because of Kal having previous back surgery, but it was looking like his pain was too much and that the only relief would come from surgery. Sunday afternoon he went and had the herniation removed. The surgery went fantastic and the DR said that it was a good thing they did the surgery as he would of never healed had he not had it. So Kal is now able to sit, stand, and walk and is relatively pain free. He does have some discomfort, but compared to a few days ago he is feeling great. He will now be off for the next 6 weeks while he recovers, hopefully he won't go stir crazy and that the boys will not jump on him. I on the other hand will be taking care of him and the kids...should be .......interesting! I have to say that I had the most wonderful people help me out this week, my Heavenly Father truly knew what I needed and sent these kind people, what a blessing they were to me and the kids!! I'm not sure if I will ever be able to thank them all enough! I am also so grateful to those who sent cards, letters, emails and such with such loving words and comfort.
We are so blessed!

I agree, you are amazing! I am so glad everything is working itself out but man, am I going to pray for you for the next six weeks:). Thank goodness you are super woman:) Good luck with the whole "hoping the boys won't jump on Kal" thing. I don't know what I would do if someone told me I had to keep the girls off Rooz. It would be completely futile:) I hope everything keeps getting better. Love you!
