I decided that I wanted to re-vamp a caramel recipe that I have had for years. It was good as is, but I wanted some thing a little extra so I thought I would share my recipe with you all!
1 cup Light Corn Syrup
1 cup Butter
1 cup Brown Sugar
1 cup White Sugar
1 can Eagle Brand Milk
1/2 cup Whipping Cream
2 tsp Vanilla
1 tsp Salt
Mix all ingredients in a heavy saucepan on medium heat. Stir constantly as caramel will burn very easily. Cook until soft ball stage..remember to stir constantly! Pour into a greased 9" x 13" greased pan(buttered). Cool and cut and wrap pieces in wax paper or dip in chocolate. I also like to add pecans for a special treat and drizzle with chocolate.

oh i am so excited you posted this. Caramels are my VERY very very favorite but I've never made them. Now I am GOING to!!
