Today would be my sister Kelly's 29 birthday.
June 10, 1999 my sister was killed after a young man had fallen asleep at the wheel and ran into my Mom's car head on.
I would add a picture of my sister but my scanner is not working...so frustrating!
I do not find this day particularly sad, yes I do miss her terribly, but I like to think about her life not her death...she is still living, just not where I can see her face to face, but I know she is around.
So for a very happy birthday to her I am going to list 29 things about my sister Kelly.
1. She is beautiful....and not just her personality...big brown eyes, great smile, fabulous cheek bones and a great body and naturally brown curly hair and olive skin.
2. She had a bad temper...when she was little she would get so mad and hold her breath and then pass out. My son Walker seems to have inherited this temper as well....minus the passing out thing.
3. She was always quick to apologise after a bought with the temper
4. She could not cook with a darn... she tried and tried to make cookies and they always turned out like baseballs. She did how ever over time get really good at making peanut butter kiss cookies.
5. She was a very loyal friend
6. Kelly could drive her teachers crazy and yet they could not help but adore her
7. Kelly was a phenomenal athlete
8. Kelly reset 5 track records at our high school her freshman year
9. Kelly was an extremely fast runner
10. Kelly's favourite sport was volley ball

13. She was very bright and always did well in school...well usually.
14. Kelly was very protective of us siblings
15. Kelly was never afraid to fight a dumb boy...the boy of course would be dumb to fight her...she always would kick his butt
16. Kelly loved 7 layer burritos from Taco Bell
17. Kelly loved mashed Potato's
18. Kelly loved food in general...and man could she eat
19. Kelly had crooked toes...I used to not let her touch me with them...ever
20. Kelly hated her nose
21. Kelly was stronger emotionally then I think I ever could be
22. Kelly hated to be told to "chill out"
23. Kelly's favourite phrase when she was little was "that's not fair"
24. Kelly got into trouble.... allot
25. Kelly had a great sense of humour
26. People always thought Kelly was older than me..well I am 13 months and 15 days older than her...just to let you know

28. Kelly was always popular
29. Kelly is my dear friend....even though we fought most of our growing up years... I loved her dearly and could always count on her to be there, no matter what.

That's sweet Amanda! Thanks for sharing some great details about your sister with those of us that didn't know who she was. She sounds remarkable.
I'm sure she was a wonderful sister. What a blessing to have such people in our lives--even when they didn't stay as long as we would've liked.
I'm so glad to know you, Amanda--it seems that amazingness was not partial to just your sister. It must run in the family!
big hugs. I sooo understand. you know I do. My sister Kelly's birthday was May 15th. Love the list of things about your sister!
Okay, I'm not pregnant any more and that still made me cry! I didn't get a chance to know Kelley but I really wish I could have. Thank you for allowing me this glimpse of who she was and is! It is wonderful to have you in our family!
