I am so grateful!

I have been seriously feeling very grateful for all the truly wonderful friends that I have in my life. Moving away and being the new gal on the block has definitely made me more aware of how blessed I have been to have good friends. I do not think that you can truly understand what good friends mean to you until you have to either leave them behind or they leave you behind or when that friendship has been tested.

How wonderful are the friends that you can call at a moments notice and arrange a play date...and not just for the kids.
When you need some one to take your kids for an hour or two and you know that it is no big deal and that you would gladly take your friends kids for how
ever long they needed.
That you know your friends will still love you and your kids even if they are monkeys or break some thing in their house.
That when you are feeling down you can call them and be guaranteed a pick me up conversation...or they will tell you an equally bad or even worse story to make you feel better.
That you can have them over with your house being a disaster and you are still in your jammies with no make up and no shower and no bra, and they act as if it is nothing and then just because, help you with the laundry or sweep your floor or just hang out in the mess and not bat an eye.
When you have a new baby and they show up with dinner just because they know how tired you are and dinner is the last thing you want to worry about and you can only eat fast food so much.
When you can cry over some thing stupid and they don't get weirded out on you. When you can have an argument with your husband and you need a sounding board, you can talk with them and you know that they will not tell any one and that they will still like your husband.
When you need a totally honest opinion and yes that it may sting a little to know the truth but that they still give it to you any way.
When they can act like a total fool and embarrass them selves just for fun along with you.
When you can tell them a secret and it stays a secret.
When you can give them a look and they know exactly what you are thinking in any situation.
That when some thing very bad happens in your life they are there, not matter what, they are the shoulder to cry on, the hug you need, the phone call, the visit, the quiet understanding. They seem to know exactly what you need or could use at that very time.

These are what true and real friends are.

And so to my true and real friends, I love you and miss you and I am so grateful to have you in my life....I am a better person because of you!

lol, I love that one... especially the "and they will still like your husband" part. So true, so true.

We miss you all the time, Amanda!

We miss you so much too! I miss my sounding board and true friend (you). It's good to know you are still there (and so am I) if we need each other. Even though we are far away!
